Verified contractor on the Costa del Sol

Costa Builder Checked

The Badge That Proves You Can Be Trusted

Costa Builder Checked is an independent accreditation scheme for contractors working on the Costa del Sol. For homeowners, it means peace of mind. For contractors, it means standing out from the crowd.

For Homeowners

What the Badge Means for You

When you see the Costa Builder Checked badge, you know that contractor has been independently verified — not by a trade body they paid to join, but by us, working exclusively on your behalf. We check legal registration, insurance, customer reviews and on-site standards. If they didn't pass, they're not listed.

Find a Verified Builder

Independently verified

We carry out every check ourselves. No self-certification, no rubber-stamping.

No commercial bias

We have no referral arrangement with any listed contractor. Our only obligation is to you.

Ongoing compliance

Accreditation is reviewed annually. Contractors who fall short are removed from the directory.

Dispute support

If something goes wrong with a verified contractor, we will support you through the process.

The Accreditation Process

How We Verify a Contractor

Our process is thorough, independent and consistent. Every contractor goes through the same steps — no shortcuts, no exceptions.

01
01

Application

The contractor submits an application with their business details, registration number, insurance documents and a list of recent projects.

02
02

Document Review

We verify legal registration with the Spanish authorities, confirm insurance is current and adequate, and check all documentation is in order.

03
03

Review Audit

We independently audit customer reviews across Google, Houzz and other platforms — checking for authenticity, patterns and red flags.

04
04

Site Assessment

Where possible, we carry out or commission an on-site assessment of a current or recent project to evaluate standards of workmanship.

05
05

Decision

Our panel reviews all findings and makes an independent decision. Contractors who meet all criteria are listed. Those who do not are declined — with feedback.

06
06

Annual Review

Accreditation is not permanent. We review every listed contractor annually and following any complaint received from a homeowner.
